# How to export PNG from PhotoCraft

An export is the handoff. A quick check now prevents an unexpected background or a missing revision later.

## Choose the right copy

Download a PSD when you need editable layers. Use PNG for a flat image, including an image that needs transparent pixels. Keep the original and edited project separate.

## Export PNG in PhotoCraft

Use File → Export → Export As. Select PNG and finish the download. Before exporting a cutout, inspect the canvas and background layers rather than assuming a checkerboard is part of the saved image.

## Check the downloaded file

Open the downloaded PNG. Check pixel dimensions, visible edges and transparency against a light and a dark background. Make sure it is the finished image you intend to share.

## Keep a way back

Store the layered working file alongside the export. An exported PNG cannot restore editable text, masks or the layer structure of the source.

## FAQ

### Can JPEG preserve transparency?

JPEG does not preserve an alpha channel. Choose PNG when your delivery needs transparent pixels.

### Can I reopen the exported PNG?

Yes. It reopens as an image; it does not bring back the original editable layers.
